Sindhi True Indian Minority
In the democratic setup numbers are playing most important and vital role. In the India, many communities are trying to have the minority status either on the basis of language or on population in a particular region. If we look at national scenario sindhu community emerges as the true minority and following seven points are the supporting evidence for this fact.
Sindhi speaking population of the country is only between 2% to 3% of total population of the country. [Estimated Sindhi population is between 2.5 carore and 3 carore].
Sindhi population is scattered through out the country, from Kashmir to Kanniyakumari, hence the density of Sindhi population is such diluted that even at some places not taken in consideration.
If we leave apart a few cities like Ulhasnagar in Thane district of Maharashtra and Adipur in Kutch area of Gujrat, in most of cities Sindhi population is about something from 5% to 20%, of total population of the city. There is long list of Indian cities where Sindhi population is even less than 5% of total city population.
Sindhi Language is not a state language for any Indian state; Sindhi language is not in use as the regional language or holds such status.
There are no reserved seats either for state assembly or Parliament for Sindhis, like backward classes have.
Even like the Anglo Indian community, no Sindhi is nominated for the Parliament.
Sindhi population in the country is so dispersed in the country that like other communities [even the recoginse minorities], no sindhi is able to won state assembly / Parliament elections only on the support of own community, probably this is the reason for presence of very few Sindhis in the arena of Indian Politics.

Ye India Ka Politics Hai [This is Indian politics]
Ye India Ka Politics Hai [This is Indian politics]
So the much waited decision of withdrawing the support to central government by left parties was initiated a few days back though this doesn’t prove tsunami creator as was expected but still Indian Ocean of politics went under the influence of ways of political instability with very high tides and Prime Minister was forced to move the confidence motion in the Parliament house. A special season was called for two days on 21st and 22nd July 2008 and members decided on 22nd with 275 members voted in favor of motion, 256 opposed it and 10 members preferred either to remain absent in Parliament or did not take part in voting. Any how as this was expected Government succeeded in getting confidence of house. I was wondering and thinking about this strange political development of Indian politics. My thought process was broken with the calling tune of my mobile, which was transmitting musical lyrics of old Hindi Film song “Janewaloon Jara Mudkar Dekho Mujhe”. This was clear indication for the presence of wrestler turned politician Kishor Lal Singh Pahalwan, at the other end.
I was a bit surprised because this was not matching with the probable present mood of Netaji, as yesterday only his party won the vote of confidence at center hence there was no space for being in unhappy or sad mood. Anyway I picked the call.
“Hello Sirji, have you liked my, this tune, which I am dedicating to opposition and all other political parties Left us to face this unwanted situation”. Kishori asked.
“But this lyrics and music of this song……….”
Kisori started answering before I could complete question, “For a change this time I decided to reflect the mood of politicians opposing us. As soon as we finish our talk, you will get a miss call from with song matching with my mood.”
“But don’t you think handling Mulayam Singh, is not going to prove a bit harder?” I asked.
“No Sirji, Not at all, his position in his home state is so crucial that he is in very bad need of political shelter, hence he will not dare to even put his head up. You know no wise person wish to trap in street with fire on both ends. Surely Mulayam Singh is among the selective and rare wise politicians present on the political sky of country.” Kishori explained.
This looked quite satisfactory analysis but as my mind was full of question so I put another one. “What about Guru Ji? After all in past some allegations are made against him for meaningful support of government?”
Sir Ji, how you are forgetting the sarcastic article “Post office” of Hindi writer “sharad Josh” which you had mentioned as reference during our talk on corruption in the country?”
“Yes Kishori Ji, I remembered but that has to do with this situation? I asked.
“Not the article” Kishori replied “But lending sentences of that article “Khair! Jiska Jo bhi banata tha mein diya aur apani pahchan karvakar aaya hua parcel lekar ghar vapas aa gaya.” [I paid which was due customary for every one, they were satisfied with identification proof and I came back to home with parcel send to me.]. We had used this, so don’t worry about this”.
“By the way what about, the news of market price ranging between Rs. 25 carore to 100 carore? This was my next question to him.
“Kiya Sir Ji, Aap Bhi! Nayee bhi kabhi dusare nayee se paise leta hai kiya? [is a barber is charging another barber for hair cutting?]”
Once again Kishori’s explanation was satisfactory but still I preferred to look the matter more deeply “But Kishori Ji, this time these allegations are framed by a senior and seasoned politician?”
“All is bull shit Sir Ji. I am sorry but forced to say, even remaining in my touch for so many years; you fail to understand human community known as the politicians. Through out the world we the politicians are the only human beings who are true opportunist; we always react according to need and situation. We are born only and only for getting so paying is never part of life of politicians.” Kishori stooped for a while “anyway, at present I got some visitors, so we will have talk on this at some other time.” With these words Kishori disconnected phone.
My mind was still filled with thoughts about the behavior of politicians in the light of this talk, the first words which came to mind where “Ye India Ka Politics Hai”. Before I go deep in my though process, my mobile started singing yet another Hindi Film song “Hari Bazi Ko Jitana Hume Aata Hai”. I recalled words of Kishori Ji about the miss call and decided to enjoy the song, leaving all the political thoughts behind because you all know this will go on happening like this after all “Ye India Ka Politics Hai”.

Indian are said to be people with passion and for the youth and modern Indians cinema and cricket are not mere a passion but the basic style of living and interacting with each other.
More than half of the year 2008 has been deposited with history though the country is undergoing a political instability due to much awaited withdrawal of support for UPA government by the left front but still majority of population is worried about the loss of title at Asia Cup and Tri series of ODI cricket recently concluded in Pakistan and box office of many of big budget Hindi films released in the first half of the year.
On the fronts of both the passions of Indians, first half of year is some what a mix bag as for as success is concerned. IPL has created a record of new success and opened the doors of unlimited earnings for the players but towards the end fatigue of Dhoni, in bits and patches success of Yuvraj, Non justifying treatment of selectors for the Asian top batsman and Bengal Tiger Sourav Ganguli [he is not among the 30 probable Indians for the Champion’s trophy to held in September in Pakistan?] are giving space for the worries of the game lovers. The satisfactory side of the coin is the amazing success run of openers Shewag and Gambhir.
When we turn to another Indian passion cinema, Hindi movies are having a fusion of a lot of failure with some quantity of success. It seems that since last 4-5 years this trend of majority of releases not performing well at box office and first half of 2008 can’t be said different from that. Trade experts of Indian cinema are listing

Ajay Devgan’s first directional attempt “You Me and Hum “, Rakesh Roshan’s “Crazy Four” failed to meet with the expectations of cinegoers, where as success of “Aamir” [Rajiv Khandelwal] and “Mithya” [Ranbir Shouri] has proved that there is still ample space for the off beat cinema and Indian are no more made for the star, they had started to give importance to another aspects of movies also.
There are some waves of blaming IPL for not much successful first half of 2008 and even people are thinking in terms of meeting with the challenge posed by IPL in terms of withholding release of movies during the next session of IPL. Any how the remaining six months are going to be prove acid test for many star performers. The first on the list is our own “Bole to munna bhai Sanjay Datta as with ready to release films like “EMI”, “Kidnap” and “Allauddin” are going to decide his worth for the Indian film industry. Much talked “Gajani” for whom Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan has started to present self without much hairs on head, Akashay Kumar’s “Singh is King” will also released in next few months. Towards the end of December King Khan, after the failure of “Panchavi Pass” on small screen, will try to come back with a movie. These six months are said to be not as bad for Salu Miyan as he is showing a good amount of power holding with “Dus Ka Dam” on television screen.

Just consider the most promising and progressive world economies surely you will end with India, emerging as the world leader in this arena. With the speedy progress on economic fronts country is not legging for behind on the fronts of price hike of day to day commodities and life supporting products.

Look at expenses under this head they are showing a huge growth of over 100% during last five years.
In the year 2002 most of recognizing schools in most of metro cities of the country were charging a monthly fee between Rs. 100 and Rs. 300 only but today this monthly fess is raised to minimum of around Rs. 300. Now think of other important expenses head of education of Indian children and this is private tuition, for which parents have to pay almost equal amount of school fee. On the one hand government expenses on primary education are increasing and on the other hand numbers of government schools are showing a constant decline with simultaneously number growth of private school is keeping on increasing and as the natural result of all these is visible in the form of high priced schooling.
Before I conclude this, I would like to ask a very simple question to huge Indian middle class families. I was a secondary school teacher for more than 25 years and still wondering on wisdom of teaching computers to kids who are not still perfect in their mother tongue? Before blaming government just think of our attitude of measuring standard of education only basis of amount paid by us for importing this to our children. Don’t you think until and unless we are not going to change our this attitude we will remain not only deprived of benefits of national economic boost but also will have to face the problem of disturbed domestic budgets due to these increased educational expenses.

In the life of Indians this is one of the most dominating word at least since last two decade no other word is able to challenge influence that this word holds for the life of Indians from all aspects of life.
Before I go for elaborating influence of this word on life of common people let us see one hilarious side of Finance. Two politicians, one in the government and other in the opposition were engaged in a conversation about the financial progress of the country. Opposition politician was criticizing government for increase the debt circle around the country. Ruling politician was not agreeing with this as in his view these increased foreign loans have increased the safety of the country without any increase on front of expenditures of armed forces. Opposition politician was surprised to listen this as you are to read this. Look at explanation given by the ruling politicians. “Look dear! In presence of these loans no country of world will dare to make an assault on India just because every country knows in that condition these powerful countries will run for protecting India as this is the only way for the safe recovery of their loans.”
Market always moves with the principle of “Demand and Supply” and this word finance has changed this lot as this helped the market to generate a real huge demand and subsequently forced for more intense supply. In fact this is base from where boost of industrial growth has been originated. A few days back American President while addressing the world price hike of commodities held responsible the purchasing powers of Indian Middle class for this. If we put a serious look over the increase in buying powers of Indians this is not hard to find “Finance” responsible for this tremendous growth of purchasing powers.
Luxurious life styles and commodities were the unfilled desires of human beings especially of middle class of the society. What magic this word finance has done that it provided ways for the expression and fulfillment of these non satisfied desires. Facility of paying in part has prompted Indians to go for even buying the things of no or minimum use and as the result country is emerging as the place with hopes of biggest boost for market on global levels. It was amazing experience of CEO of Samsung to learn that Indians are interested and ready to put expenditure even higher that US citizens for the high definition and multi utility telecommunication instrument.
Finally I would like to conclude with curse of finance and like to quote one person was crying out side his house and when asked about the reason, he replied “I have taken honeymoon loan from a finance company as I fail to pay just three EMI in time so just know the officials of finance company have taken my wife with them”.

India 60 years 60 words Green Revolution
Among the basic needs of human beings surely food is the most essential one. Historically India was among the world lands with the higher rate of starvation deaths till 1967 even after having fertile land and favorable climatic conditions country was unable to attain self sufficiency in the production of food grains. According to Nobel Prize [1998] winner Indian economist Amartya Sen, this was not just the urge for self sufficiency in food grain yielding but also the higher rate of population growth was also stressing the implementation of adoptive measure to meet with the vigorously growing need of food stuffs.
From the independence in 1947 to 1967 two decades were utlised for coming out with a definite plan to tackle the problems population growth and food grain production. This plan was the “Green Revolution”.
In this plan the efforts of increasing the land under cultivation in force since 1947 were more intensified and the traditional monsoons based agricultural annual activities were shifted to “Double cropping” system with the irrigation facilities, being made available to farmers with the help of numerous dames constructed during these two decade and various rivers of the country. Dr. M.P. Singh, the name written with golden ink in the history of Green Revolution of India, was the instrumental behind the introduction of High Yielding Seeds [HYS] to agricultural world of the country. The use of HYS provided the success platform for the Green Revolution.

Ever since the human existence on earth desire of “different Look” has traveled a lot with the socialization and civilisation of human beings on this planet and still is in pursuit of its constantly changing ultimate destination. Fashion in nothing else but is expression and presentation of self with unique, isolated and different looks in innovative, attractive and impressive style.
In the Vedic era this desire was intended to find its destination with leather skin of wilds, feathers of flying and shells from the marine life. There was a time for this desire to get expressed in artistically designed gold ornaments with the glitter of pearls and diamonds. Finely crafted crowns, designed to prove temptation and unique texture has given a specific identification and royal status to many ornaments which not only proved previous and beyond time but still are the foundation stones for the faculty of fashion which in the modern times has shaped into an industry of billions and billions turnover. This desire of different look was also with time of finding expression with the footwear; history is still recalling footwear of Cinderella, Hair styles were also the area where this desire has found space to get expressed and it was a time when every Indian girls was looking for Sadhana cut or the recent interest in long hairs of young Indian wicketkeeper M S Dhoni shown by a large section of young boys. Surely this is indication about the concept of use of mobile by the Indians. This is not just freedom of speaking from any place but today mobiles have become essential and most effective tool of social and business life.

For the Indians, since the decade car was is in the commodity list of elites only and treated as the status symbol for the social life. Every body was dreaming about owning a car but for most it was the unrealized dream.
Things have started to change since the late years of 80’s and this dream started to move on the grounds of reality with the induction of “Maruti – suziki” in the automobile sector of the country with the small and dream car of Late Shri. Sanjay Gandhi “Maruti 800”. In the recent years our country went under the economic reforms and these reforms have open the doors of easiness and affordable availability of finance for the middle class for buying a car and realize their dream. As a result Indian roads started to move with the four wheels of these small family cars.
During these years earning powers of middle class Indians have shown a sounding growth especially in the serving sector, as the reports are filtering in, it is possible that government employees might get a very sounding about 52% hike in their salaries after the implementation of recommendations of sixth pay commission. These increased purchasing powers and natural human attitude of having physical comforts is resulting in the increased number of cars on the Indian roads.
In the recent years of almost last two decade traveling scene of country has changed to a great extent, tours are not just limited to business purpose and visiting relatives at specific family functions but now in the country tourism is not just become the status symbol but the most needed change as during these days the struggle for earning the money is become loaded with pressures to such extent that common people are in the more need of relaxation. Weekend tourism is growing with enormous growth rate and for this purpose also the middle class families are more willing to own a car. Automobile sector is also coming with many comforts like the air conditioner, sound play back system etc. to meet with and generate demands for the small cars. We can say in these days, at least for the urban population car is no more a luxurious commodity but is the essential one for supporting the modern life style.
The construction of speedy and safe highways and suitable link roads are also proving a temptation of owning the car and meet with the newly developed interest for the family tourism. It is estimated that before the end of this financial year, much awaited Lakhtakiya “Naino” car of Tata is going to add option for the buyers and surely the Indian roads will be fully loaded with these small car. It will realize the dream of middle class Indian families but no body seems to be concerned about the problems created from this increased number of cars.
· The first and prime problem will be finding the space for the parking of these cars as Indian cities are already started to run with shortage of land even for the commercial and residential purpose.
· Roads will go under immense pressure of traffic and maintenance of the existing roads and constructing alternate roads to meet with this heavy traffic will become hard to fill need for many cities.
· Full consumption will go on the higher side and basic commerce principle of demand and supply will provide space for the price hike, even for the life essential goods. Already polluted city atmosphere will become more and more, richer and number of people with respiratory disorders will grow at vigorous rate.
· It will become more time consuming to travel a short distance within the city limits. Recently while going to Delhi from Kolhapur for the participation in the television reality show “Public Ka Vittmantri” I have experienced this time consuming traveling in the cities like Pune, Mumbai and Delhi.
Owning a car is realization of dream but it also needs a second thought just because of the various problems which are bound to occur and needs to be addressed for a healthy and smooth city life.

Death of wisdom

It was not a chilly morning of December nor it was the hot rising sun of the June, in fact it was the little bit cool and pleasant morning air flow of March, when I heard the news about the sad demise of wisdom.
Though it was an on going, untold cold war between me [Luck] and wisdom for proving one’s supremacy in the human world ever since the dawn of human existence on the earth. Let me confess wisdom has defeated me at couple of occasions and forced me to favor many of human beings who were floating on the waves of wisdom but at this juncture this was not a death of rival for me and honestly with the news I started to feel a kind of lacking emotion began to raise its head within me. If the wisdom is no more, over whom I will establish my supremacy? Was the question bubbling within me and seems to be more eager to find an answer.
Anyway as the traditional curtsey of human world, which I decided to follow this time, I started to move towards the residential block of wisdom. All the way of my journey, I was engaged with thoughts about the wisdom he was gem of personality and even at this age looks more attractive even in comparison of his son talent; he was living a very disciplined life and nothing adverse news about his health was there in the air since past so many years, I was wondering what happen to him? How can the wisdom die of this untimely death when the human world is in the indeed need of his help? Are the few questions dominating my mind but before I reach to satisfactory answer for any of them, my legs indicated my reaching to the residential block of wisdom.
It seems that living with human beings for so many centuries had developed human curtsey among us, as I found, Hard work, Dedication, Persistence, and even the Jealousy were present at the residential block of wisdom even before my arrival there. Talent was eagerly waiting at door step for the arrival of Mahesh Ji [the destroyer from the trio of Birhama, Vishnu and Mahesh] a few servants were seemed over busy to collect the material which was needed and can be demanded by Mahesh Ji for the funerals of the wisdom. I expressed my sympathy with talent and went on to join others who were gathered at for corner and were looked much worried about the future of human beings after the elopement of wisdom from their life.
I started to be part of discussion and tried to find out the reasons for the untimely death of wisdom, if known to anyone present there. It was real shocking for me to know that wisdom didn’t die of natural death but was forced to commit suicide. As per the Dedication, who was close relative of wisdom as her younger sister Honesty was married with wisdom, it was the suggestive powers of “Akarma” which forced wisdom to commit suicide.
Dedication went on further explaining to all of us that in the countries like the India, where democratic set up of ruling is in force, there is ample space for the enormous growth of “Akarma, Ignorance and careless”. The most destructive thing about the human beings from these parts is that living in democracy for a considerable period they all become habituate and eager to use their right of freedom of expression without bothering or realizing any kind of responsibility. Everything in these countries was slave and was decided only on the bases of numbers only. Wisdom was observing this almost half of century old development very closely and has expressed his non satisfaction over this at couple of times during family discussions. His wife Honesty was also going through the moments of being not happy as slowly and gradually human beings of these parts of earth have started to throw away from the life and started to live on the principles where her need was reduced to almost nil extent.
During these years population of human beings in these parts of earth had shown very vigorous growth and on this day of suicide by the wisdom has reached to one fifth of total human population of the earth. As per our divine rule book one has to die if one losses utility and importance in the life of one fifth of total human population of earth.
I thought should I blame the Indians for this untimely death of wisdom, because to me this was not a suicide but was a planned murder and Indians are responsible to a great extent for increasing human population in this area of earth, but before I can express my thought and get others to comment on it, we all saw Rumor rushing in and narrated us what we heard was not the truth, wisdom is quite well and will be coming shortly with Birhma Ji, to welcome all for his birthday celebrations.

It was not a chilly morning of December nor it was the hot rising sun of the June, in fact it was the little bit cool and pleasant morning air flow of March, when I heard the news about the sad demise of wisdom.
Though it was an on going, untold cold war between me [Luck] and wisdom for proving one’s supremacy in the human world ever since the dawn of human existence on the earth. Let me confess wisdom has defeated me at couple of occasions and forced me to favor many of human beings who were floating on the waves of wisdom but at this juncture this was not a death of rival for me and honestly with the news I started to feel a kind of lacking emotion began to raise its head within me. If the wisdom is no more, over whom I will establish my supremacy? Was the question bubbling within me and seems to be more eager to find an answer.
Anyway as the traditional curtsey of human world, which I decided to follow this time, I started to move towards the residential block of wisdom. All the way of my journey, I was engaged with thoughts about the wisdom he was gem of personality and even at this age looks more attractive even in comparison of his son talent; he was living a very disciplined life and nothing adverse news about his health was there in the air since past so many years, I was wondering what happen to him? How can the wisdom die of this untimely death when the human world is in the indeed need of his help? Are the few questions dominating my mind but before I reach to satisfactory answer for any of them, my legs indicated my reaching to the residential block of wisdom.
It seems that living with human beings for so many centuries had developed human curtsey among us, as I found, Hard work, Dedication, Persistence, and even the Jealousy were present at the residential block of wisdom even before my arrival there. Talent was eagerly waiting at door step for the arrival of Mahesh Ji [the destroyer from the trio of Birhama, Vishnu and Mahesh] a few servants were seemed over busy to collect the material which was needed and can be demanded by Mahesh Ji for the funerals of the wisdom. I expressed my sympathy with talent and went on to join others who were gathered at for corner and were looked much worried about the future of human beings after the elopement of wisdom from their life.
I started to be part of discussion and tried to find out the reasons for the untimely death of wisdom, if known to anyone present there. It was real shocking for me to know that wisdom didn’t die of natural death but was forced to commit suicide. As per the Dedication, who was close relative of wisdom as her younger sister Honesty was married with wisdom, it was the suggestive powers of “Akarma” which forced wisdom to commit suicide.
Dedication went on further explaining to all of us that in the countries like the India, where democratic set up of ruling is in force, there is ample space for the enormous growth of “Akarma, Ignorance and careless”. The most destructive thing about the human beings from these parts is that living in democracy for a considerable period they all become habituate and eager to use their right of freedom of expression without bothering or realizing any kind of responsibility. Everything in these countries was slave and was decided only on the bases of numbers only. India: 60 Years: 60 Words: [16] Electronic Voting Machines
[India has competed 60 years of independence and to mark this, I am presenting this series of Articles, about the words, that are meaning a lot for the progress of the country. After the independence we have opted for the democratic setup of ruling and in this elections are bound to reappear at regular intervals. Traditionally ballot papers were used by the people to indicate their choice of candidate. This was a time consuming process especially when it comes to counting of the votes, I can recall still the days when after the general election, Doordarshan [official television channel of the country] was telecasting Hindi movies back to back for more than 48 hours during the process of counting of votes for these elections, so that people can know the results as and when they are available.
Considering the time consumed in counting of votes, election commission of India thought of electronic alternative for the ballot papers to speed up the counting process and with the help of Bharat Electronics Ltd., Bangalore and Electronic Corporation of India Ltd., Hyderabad [both are from public sector undertakings] succeeded in designing a voting machines called “EVM” in the year 1989-1990.
Electronic Voting Machine [EVM] is composed of two units namely controlling unit and balloting unit. The polling officer at polling booth activates the machine with the help of controlling unit, which is connected with balloting unit through a cable and voter press the button given in balloting unit for their choice of candidate. An EVM can record vote’s maximum to 3840 votes and in our country polling booths are designed in such manner that at most of the booths number of voters remains around 1500 hence for a single polling booth, single EVM prove sufficient.
EVM’s were used first time during the election of Legislative Assemblies held in November, 1998, in 16 Assembly Constituencies in the States of Madhya Pradesh (5), Rajasthan (5) and NCT of Delhi (6) on the experimental basis. The results have prompted the election commission to go for the use of EVM’s in all elections and traditional ballot papers just because
1. It saves time.
2. There is considerable ease for the counting of votes as by pressing a single button votes for every candidate are displayed.
3. A single EVM can accommodate votes for 16 candidates and to a single controlling unit four balloting units can be connected making the number of candidate equal to 64, which is much higher than normal maximum number of candidates for a constituency.
4. As the EVM can record only 5 Votes in a minute and the facility of “Close” button in the controlling unit are working against the booth capturing.
5. An EVM is priced higher than Rs. 5,000 but when we consider the printing, transportation of ballot papers and ballot boxes along with the requirement of more staff during counting and remuneration paid to them, EVM’s falls in the circle of affordability.
6. EVM can insure one man one vote, beside that there are no individual votes as there is no provision to know which voter has pressed button for which candidate.
7. EVM is computerized programmed machine which runs on the battery provided with hence there is no need of supply of external electric power and being sealed it is not possible to change the code and use for behavior in a specific way.
8. It is so easy to use that even large illiterate population of the country is able to use it.

When I thought of writing on this, I was forced to go down in the memory lane of my childhood memories, where I was asking father about reason of hiding the income by common Indians and getting the reason of high rate of income tax. My memories are supportive for the income tax rate as higher as 60% though people say at same times it was as high as 97%.
Though the chronology dares 1991 as the year of start for the economic reforms by the India but in fact the economic reforms were started with the independence of the country. If you consider all the land and social reforms implemented all the years, nationalization of banking system, stopping the compensation packages to various Kings and Royal family members of pre independence era and almost demolishing the licensing policies etc. Surely one will suggest that year 1991 can be taken as the year for the beginning of second phase of economic reforms in the country. A few years prior to this India were under going not only phase of political instability but also facing sever problems on the fronts of economy and was under the fear of collapsing. All these reforms were aimed at consisting of stabilisation-cum-structural adjustment measures, view to attain macroeconomic stability and higher rates of economic growth. At the political fronts country entered into new phase of coalition governments and might this be the reason for the speeding of the economic reforms as every political party was eager to reflect their concern about the nation and build an imagine of being caring towards the welfare of people in general.
In fact the infra structure of these reforms was discussed during the Prime ministerial term of Late Rajiv Gandhi and Present Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Sing, Finance Minister shri P Chidambaram, Shri Montek Singh Ahuwalia and few others were the part of this core discussion. Though the credit of implementation of policies can be given to BJP led coalition government in the year 1991 but that doesn’t minimize the effort and vision of the dream team.
High going GDP and economic growth which was below 5% of annual rate, reach to as high as almost 7 % were the indication of success for the reforms in the first decade. In the year 2003-2004 the annual rate of economic growth was at 7.5% according to finance minister by the end of this fiscal year country will attain a rate of almost 9% and a double digit one in next 2-3 years.
The economic reforms opened the door of investment and in flow has resulted in strengthening the infra structural sector which subsequently started to reflect in the form of vigorous industrial growth of the country. Fortunately India is equipped with rich natural resources backed with immense man power with skills and talent, hence in the present era, after only a short period of reforms, country is among the huge economies of human world and stands third on fronts of GDP behind America and China.
Economic reforms are working for changing the image of Indians in the world human communities. Multi story buildings, Air conditioned and elegant looking offices, express high ways, flyovers and alternate roads within the city limits, availability of technical excellence, time bound work, ample inland travel facilities, comfortable hotel stay etc. are few images of new India.
Surely after the 60 years of independence India is marching ahead at the constant speed towards the desired goal of regaining the leadership of human world.

If you are interested in astronomical literature, you are bound to have read NASA reporting there is no evidence of water existence hence there are no possibility of life on certain planet. It is fact that oxygen is life supporting element but the water, an important chemical formed from oxygen, is the one from which life is originated.
The geographical situations and human population in the India are such that people are bound to live even in very remote areas in adverse life supporting conditions. Even in the pre independence era Indians were facing problem with the availability of drinking water and bound to travel daily a lot for it. The places and houses of Rajasthan with water storage facilities are the illustration for the scarcity of this life liquid.
The natural resources of drinking water are the rivers etc. with flowing water on the surface and Wells for the underground water. If you ever had cover the distance between the Indira Gandhi International air port and Delhi city, you surely noted an almost deserted forest land of about 4 km length and in this belt one or other woman handling the hand pump to fill her bucket with the water.
India is with large geographical part with sandy, stony and mountain based surface [almost 70% of earth surface in India land is hard in nature and non suitable for digging the traditional wells to use the under ground water for the purpose of drinking] and making the sufficient and adequate availability of drinking water in these areas was a unsolved problem.
In the early years of decade of 50’s it was estimated that more than 1,50,000 Indian village are facing the problem of ample availability of drinking water but as the nation was in the process of rebuilding and facing the problems create from the migration of considerable large population hence much efforts were not taken at the government levels. It was only in the mid of 70’s [as I recall some time from 1974 to 1976] that government become active for this problem and with the help of UNISEF and World Health Organization implemented plan of Hand Pumps [India mark -2 water pumps] at the village level.
These Hand pump tube wells proved a great success and drinking water problem seems to get uprooted but huge number and long period use of these have started to reflect in the adverse format, after almost 25 years. The under ground level started to go on decline, the water, which was available at 30 feet below the surface become unable even at the depth of 70 feet, beside that fertility of surrounding soil got affected adversely and crop productions were reduced in these area.
How worst this problem of drinking water is for the Indians is, to measure this we have to look at the market of packed drinking water, the recent trend of Indian cities and elite population. In the present times I am not surprise to know that during a marriage celebration or business meet expense bill of drinking water goes higher than bill of cocktails.
Entire world is facing the problem related to shortage of drinking water but tough geographical conditions and huge population of India are making this problem more sounding. Surely beside the educating the people about the importance of drinking water, introduction of new technologies for the use of flowing water of rivers is the need of hour for the country.
