India 60 years 60 words Green Revolution
Among the basic needs of human beings surely food is the most essential one. Historically India was among the world lands with the higher rate of starvation deaths till 1967 even after having fertile land and favorable climatic conditions country was unable to attain self sufficiency in the production of food grains. According to Nobel Prize [1998] winner Indian economist Amartya Sen, this was not just the urge for self sufficiency in food grain yielding but also the higher rate of population growth was also stressing the implementation of adoptive measure to meet with the vigorously growing need of food stuffs.
From the independence in 1947 to 1967 two decades were utlised for coming out with a definite plan to tackle the problems population growth and food grain production. This plan was the “Green Revolution”.
In this plan the efforts of increasing the land under cultivation in force since 1947 were more intensified and the traditional monsoons based agricultural annual activities were shifted to “Double cropping” system with the irrigation facilities, being made available to farmers with the help of numerous dames constructed during these two decade and various rivers of the country. Dr. M.P. Singh, the name written with golden ink in the history of Green Revolution of India, was the instrumental behind the introduction of High Yielding Seeds [HYS] to agricultural world of the country. The use of HYS provided the success platform for the Green Revolution.
Effects of Green Revolution
1. India is not only the self sufficient but also one among the countries with the highest agricultural production.
2. Country is among the food grains exporter countries.
3. With Green Revolution concept of cash crops, Stress on production of fruits and flowers are become essential part of farming.
4. Production of Unit farmland is increased by 30% in compare to 1947.
5. Green Revolution provided scope for Industrial boost also as HYS needs more water, more fertilizer, more pesticides, fungicides and certain other chemicals.
6. For the irrigation more dams were constructed, which prompted for constructing hydro electric power production and resulted in industrial growth.
7. Green Revolution proved reason for the higher economic status of farmers, the middle class economic sector of country.

India 60 years 60 words FASHION Industry
Ever since the human existence on earth desire of “different Look” has traveled a lot with the socialization and civilisation of human beings on this planet and still is in pursuit of its constantly changing ultimate destination. Fashion in nothing else but is expression and presentation of self with unique, isolated and different looks in innovative, attractive and impressive style.
In the Vedic era this desire was intended to find its destination with leather skin of wilds, feathers of flying and shells from the marine life. There was a time for this desire to get expressed in artistically designed gold ornaments with the glitter of pearls and diamonds. Finely crafted crowns, designed to prove temptation and unique texture has given a specific identification and royal status to many ornaments which not only proved previous and beyond time but still are the foundation stones for the faculty of fashion which in the modern times has shaped into an industry of billions and billions turnover. This desire of different look was also with time of finding expression with the footwear; history is still recalling footwear of Cinderella, Hair styles were also the area where this desire has found space to get expressed and it was a time when every Indian girls was looking for Sadhana cut or the recent interest in long hairs of young Indian wicketkeeper M S Dhoni shown by a large section of young boys. Dhoni’s hair style was such unique that even Pakistani President Parvez Mushrif was forced to spoke words of praise. One aspect which always provided the hottest, central and most elegant space for the expression of this desire is the clothing of human beings.
Traditionally fashion industry was limited to textile, Jewelry and footwear but in last one century or so cosmetics have also become an important constituent of this business of multi billions turnover. The most recent addition to this industry of “different look” deals with the totality which not only includes the above four but also stress for the behavioral postures. Physiques of human beings are homeland of emotions hence surely expressing the same situation with different body postures be called the fashion style.
Cloths are neither just meant to protect body from the adverse climatic conditions nor just the homeland of fashion style but in fact the way in which cloths are used by different races, castes and creeds of human world have become identification mark also for caste, region and nation. “Burka” a long cloth covering body completely is identification mark for the Muslim women. “Gandhi Topi” a specific head wear, is the identification of India, though in the modern times very rare in use by common Indians. If we consider the last sixty years in fact India has lost identity with cloths only because urban population is eager to cope with the international fashion trends hence Dhoti, Kurta Paijama, Ghaghra choli, traditional Rajasthani Pagadi or Kolhapuri Pheta have become restricted to remote villages and in the cities are the ceremonial wearing for some specific occasions and few days of the year.
Textile sector is the second largest employment generating sector, after the agriculture and generated employment for about 35 million people directly and creates employment opportunity for another 50 millions by the ways of activities related with the textile industry. The most recent trend seen in the clothing world of India is the increasing attraction for the readymade garments and stylish undergarments or the inner wears. Indian night wears, silk sarees, bathing towels, bed covering and other bedroom related textile products have not only shown an increase in demand at domestic levels but also become major share in the textile export of the country. In the past one decade the size of fashion industry has grown four times.
It is now not abnormal to locate a fashion designer even in the small Indian cities. Tarun Tahiliani, Ritukumar, Rohit Bal and Manish Malhotra are few names from the long listing of Indian fashion designers.

Third Generation of the third screen: Mobile revolution
You can play back your favorite music tracks, watch the videos, play the games, hang out at the virtual world of internet, and shoot a video of happening around you beside that this instrument can also be used for the normal telephonic conversation. Yes friends this is all about the mobile hand set which has become so slim and compact even after so many features that even your pocket space is more than sufficient to accommodate this trendy instrument.
When on the 3rd April 1973 Mr. Martin Koopar of Motorola Company had first invented this instrument it was even beyond to use it for so many tasks. At that time it was termed as the third screen after the television and computer screens. We can say that this was the first step in the direction of restricting and bringing the use to technology within the surface area of human hand.
I still can recall the days of year 2000, when opted for the mobile connection these were the days when one has to pay not just for making the call but receiving call was also a paid service for the mobile users. The hand sets were bulky weighing almost 300-400 grams but the changes occurred at enormous speedy rate, handsets have shaped even into models with touch screen and the mobile users will be going to be paid for receiving calls in very short near future.
Journey of SMS, the present most trusted way of youth for communication and get information, was started in the 1993 with the sending of first SMS in Finland. Look at business growth of SMS it is now a business with turnover of over 10,000 billion dollars. This is not the only business aspect generated from the mobile telephony but few others like Ring tones, Music, Picture download, Video games, hello tunes and even online gambling are also proving with business of turnover in the billions and billions.
If we look at India, this is now possible for a village farmer to sit at home and start or stop the water pump at the distant crop field just using the mobile phone. The days of hours and hours long waiting for the arrival of postman are the history even in the Indian villages as mobile is proving more effective way of communication and surely this revolution is possible because of active involvement of Government undertaking BSNL, but the true mobile revolution in the country was brought by the induction of Reliance in the mobile service provider sector. The company entered into arena with the slogan of “KAR LO DUNIYA MUTHI MEIN” [Have the world within the reach of your hand] and for the first time made the inter calling free and brought the tariff rates to the limits of affordability of common Indian. This proved the true revolutionary step for the mobiles as other service providers were also forced to lower their rates and in the true sense world become within the hand reach for the common Indians.
Presently the number of mobile users in the country is something between 15 carore to 20 carore but estimates indicates that by the year 2010 this number is going to touch 50 carore. Surely this is indication about the concept of use of mobile by the Indians. This is not just freedom of speaking from any place but today mobiles have become essential and most effective tool of social and business life.
In the third generation of mobiles besides having the communication facility [first generation] SMS, Ring tones, speaker phone, FM Radio, Camera etc. [second generation] we are going to have the Universal Mobile Telephony System [UMTS], broad band internet browsing and wireless technologies with GPS and all this will prove a reason to increase the mobile use at least 40 times more than the present one.

India: 60 Years: 60 Words: [17] Family Car
For the Indians, since the decade car was is in the commodity list of elites only and treated as the status symbol for the social life. Every body was dreaming about owning a car but for most it was the unrealized dream.
Things have started to change since the late years of 80’s and this dream started to move on the grounds of reality with the induction of “Maruti – suziki” in the automobile sector of the country with the small and dream car of Late Shri. Sanjay Gandhi “Maruti 800”. In the recent years our country went under the economic reforms and these reforms have open the doors of easiness and affordable availability of finance for the middle class for buying a car and realize their dream. As a result Indian roads started to move with the four wheels of these small family cars.
During these years earning powers of middle class Indians have shown a sounding growth especially in the serving sector, as the reports are filtering in, it is possible that government employees might get a very sounding about 52% hike in their salaries after the implementation of recommendations of sixth pay commission. These increased purchasing powers and natural human attitude of having physical comforts is resulting in the increased number of cars on the Indian roads.
In the recent years of almost last two decade traveling scene of country has changed to a great extent, tours are not just limited to business purpose and visiting relatives at specific family functions but now in the country tourism is not just become the status symbol but the most needed change as during these days the struggle for earning the money is become loaded with pressures to such extent that common people are in the more need of relaxation. Weekend tourism is growing with enormous growth rate and for this purpose also the middle class families are more willing to own a car. Automobile sector is also coming with many comforts like the air conditioner, sound play back system etc. to meet with and generate demands for the small cars. We can say in these days, at least for the urban population car is no more a luxurious commodity but is the essential one for supporting the modern life style.
The construction of speedy and safe highways and suitable link roads are also proving a temptation of owning the car and meet with the newly developed interest for the family tourism. It is estimated that before the end of this financial year, much awaited Lakhtakiya “Naino” car of Tata is going to add option for the buyers and surely the Indian roads will be fully loaded with these small car. It will realize the dream of middle class Indian families but no body seems to be concerned about the problems created from this increased number of cars.
· The first and prime problem will be finding the space for the parking of these cars as Indian cities are already started to run with shortage of land even for the commercial and residential purpose.
· Roads will go under immense pressure of traffic and maintenance of the existing roads and constructing alternate roads to meet with this heavy traffic will become hard to fill need for many cities.
· Full consumption will go on the higher side and basic commerce principle of demand and supply will provide space for the price hike, even for the life essential goods. Already polluted city atmosphere will become more and more, richer and number of people with respiratory disorders will grow at vigorous rate.
· It will become more time consuming to travel a short distance within the city limits. Recently while going to Delhi from Kolhapur for the participation in the television reality show “Public Ka Vittmantri” I have experienced this time consuming traveling in the cities like Pune, Mumbai and Delhi.
Owning a car is realization of dream but it also needs a second thought just because of the various problems which are bound to occur and needs to be addressed for a healthy and smooth city life.

Death of wisdom
[A blog post from Luck]
It was not a chilly morning of December nor it was the hot rising sun of the June, in fact it was the little bit cool and pleasant morning air flow of March, when I heard the news about the sad demise of wisdom.
Though it was an on going, untold cold war between me [Luck] and wisdom for proving one’s supremacy in the human world ever since the dawn of human existence on the earth. Let me confess wisdom has defeated me at couple of occasions and forced me to favor many of human beings who were floating on the waves of wisdom but at this juncture this was not a death of rival for me and honestly with the news I started to feel a kind of lacking emotion began to raise its head within me. If the wisdom is no more, over whom I will establish my supremacy? Was the question bubbling within me and seems to be more eager to find an answer.
Anyway as the traditional curtsey of human world, which I decided to follow this time, I started to move towards the residential block of wisdom. All the way of my journey, I was engaged with thoughts about the wisdom he was gem of personality and even at this age looks more attractive even in comparison of his son talent; he was living a very disciplined life and nothing adverse news about his health was there in the air since past so many years, I was wondering what happen to him? How can the wisdom die of this untimely death when the human world is in the indeed need of his help? Are the few questions dominating my mind but before I reach to satisfactory answer for any of them, my legs indicated my reaching to the residential block of wisdom.
It seems that living with human beings for so many centuries had developed human curtsey among us, as I found, Hard work, Dedication, Persistence, and even the Jealousy were present at the residential block of wisdom even before my arrival there. Talent was eagerly waiting at door step for the arrival of Mahesh Ji [the destroyer from the trio of Birhama, Vishnu and Mahesh] a few servants were seemed over busy to collect the material which was needed and can be demanded by Mahesh Ji for the funerals of the wisdom. I expressed my sympathy with talent and went on to join others who were gathered at for corner and were looked much worried about the future of human beings after the elopement of wisdom from their life.
I started to be part of discussion and tried to find out the reasons for the untimely death of wisdom, if known to anyone present there. It was real shocking for me to know that wisdom didn’t die of natural death but was forced to commit suicide. As per the Dedication, who was close relative of wisdom as her younger sister Honesty was married with wisdom, it was the suggestive powers of “Akarma” which forced wisdom to commit suicide.
Dedication went on further explaining to all of us that in the countries like the India, where democratic set up of ruling is in force, there is ample space for the enormous growth of “Akarma, Ignorance and careless”. The most destructive thing about the human beings from these parts is that living in democracy for a considerable period they all become habituate and eager to use their right of freedom of expression without bothering or realizing any kind of responsibility. Everything in these countries was slave and was decided only on the bases of numbers only. Wisdom was observing this almost half of century old development very closely and has expressed his non satisfaction over this at couple of times during family discussions. His wife Honesty was also going through the moments of being not happy as slowly and gradually human beings of these parts of earth have started to throw away from the life and started to live on the principles where her need was reduced to almost nil extent.
During these years population of human beings in these parts of earth had shown very vigorous growth and on this day of suicide by the wisdom has reached to one fifth of total human population of the earth. As per our divine rule book one has to die if one losses utility and importance in the life of one fifth of total human population of earth.
I thought should I blame the Indians for this untimely death of wisdom, because to me this was not a suicide but was a planned murder and Indians are responsible to a great extent for increasing human population in this area of earth, but before I can express my thought and get others to comment on it, we all saw Rumor rushing in and narrated us what we heard was not the truth, wisdom is quite well and will be coming shortly with Birhma Ji, to welcome all for his birthday celebrations.

India: 60 Years: 60 Words: [16] Electronic Voting Machines
[India has competed 60 years of independence and to mark this, I am presenting this series of Articles, about the words, that are meaning a lot for the progress of the country. If you feel I missed some thing [For listing of words see the first article “India: 60 Years: 60 Words”] do inform me at premputar@gmail.com I will try to include that at the end of series]
After the independence we have opted for the democratic setup of ruling and in this elections are bound to reappear at regular intervals. Traditionally ballot papers were used by the people to indicate their choice of candidate. This was a time consuming process especially when it comes to counting of the votes, I can recall still the days when after the general election, Doordarshan [official television channel of the country] was telecasting Hindi movies back to back for more than 48 hours during the process of counting of votes for these elections, so that people can know the results as and when they are available.
Considering the time consumed in counting of votes, election commission of India thought of electronic alternative for the ballot papers to speed up the counting process and with the help of Bharat Electronics Ltd., Bangalore and Electronic Corporation of India Ltd., Hyderabad [both are from public sector undertakings] succeeded in designing a voting machines called “EVM” in the year 1989-1990.
Electronic Voting Machine [EVM] is composed of two units namely controlling unit and balloting unit. The polling officer at polling booth activates the machine with the help of controlling unit, which is connected with balloting unit through a cable and voter press the button given in balloting unit for their choice of candidate. An EVM can record vote’s maximum to 3840 votes and in our country polling booths are designed in such manner that at most of the booths number of voters remains around 1500 hence for a single polling booth, single EVM prove sufficient.
EVM’s were used first time during the election of Legislative Assemblies held in November, 1998, in 16 Assembly Constituencies in the States of Madhya Pradesh (5), Rajasthan (5) and NCT of Delhi (6) on the experimental basis. The results have prompted the election commission to go for the use of EVM’s in all elections and traditional ballot papers just because
1. It saves time.
2. There is considerable ease for the counting of votes as by pressing a single button votes for every candidate are displayed.
3. A single EVM can accommodate votes for 16 candidates and to a single controlling unit four balloting units can be connected making the number of candidate equal to 64, which is much higher than normal maximum number of candidates for a constituency.
4. As the EVM can record only 5 Votes in a minute and the facility of “Close” button in the controlling unit are working against the booth capturing.
5. An EVM is priced higher than Rs. 5,000 but when we consider the printing, transportation of ballot papers and ballot boxes along with the requirement of more staff during counting and remuneration paid to them, EVM’s falls in the circle of affordability.
6. EVM can insure one man one vote, beside that there are no individual votes as there is no provision to know which voter has pressed button for which candidate.
7. EVM is computerized programmed machine which runs on the battery provided with hence there is no need of supply of external electric power and being sealed it is not possible to change the code and use for behavior in a specific way.
8. It is so easy to use that even large illiterate population of the country is able to use it.

India: 60 Years: 60 Words: [15] Economic Reforms
[India has competed 60 years of independence and to mark this, I am presenting this series of Articles, about the words, that are meaning a lot for the progress of the country. If you feel I missed some thing [For listing of words see the first article “India: 60 Years: 60 Words”] do inform me at premputar@gmail.com I will try to include that at the end of series]
When I thought of writing on this, I was forced to go down in the memory lane of my childhood memories, where I was asking father about reason of hiding the income by common Indians and getting the reason of high rate of income tax. My memories are supportive for the income tax rate as higher as 60% though people say at same times it was as high as 97%.
Though the chronology dares 1991 as the year of start for the economic reforms by the India but in fact the economic reforms were started with the independence of the country. If you consider all the land and social reforms implemented all the years, nationalization of banking system, stopping the compensation packages to various Kings and Royal family members of pre independence era and almost demolishing the licensing policies etc. Surely one will suggest that year 1991 can be taken as the year for the beginning of second phase of economic reforms in the country. A few years prior to this India were under going not only phase of political instability but also facing sever problems on the fronts of economy and was under the fear of collapsing. All these reforms were aimed at consisting of stabilisation-cum-structural adjustment measures, view to attain macroeconomic stability and higher rates of economic growth. At the political fronts country entered into new phase of coalition governments and might this be the reason for the speeding of the economic reforms as every political party was eager to reflect their concern about the nation and build an imagine of being caring towards the welfare of people in general.
In fact the infra structure of these reforms was discussed during the Prime ministerial term of Late Rajiv Gandhi and Present Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Sing, Finance Minister shri P Chidambaram, Shri Montek Singh Ahuwalia and few others were the part of this core discussion. Though the credit of implementation of policies can be given to BJP led coalition government in the year 1991 but that doesn’t minimize the effort and vision of the dream team.
High going GDP and economic growth which was below 5% of annual rate, reach to as high as almost 7 % were the indication of success for the reforms in the first decade. In the year 2003-2004 the annual rate of economic growth was at 7.5% according to finance minister by the end of this fiscal year country will attain a rate of almost 9% and a double digit one in next 2-3 years.
The economic reforms opened the door of investment and in flow has resulted in strengthening the infra structural sector which subsequently started to reflect in the form of vigorous industrial growth of the country. Fortunately India is equipped with rich natural resources backed with immense man power with skills and talent, hence in the present era, after only a short period of reforms, country is among the huge economies of human world and stands third on fronts of GDP behind America and China.
Economic reforms are working for changing the image of Indians in the world human communities. Multi story buildings, Air conditioned and elegant looking offices, express high ways, flyovers and alternate roads within the city limits, availability of technical excellence, time bound work, ample inland travel facilities, comfortable hotel stay etc. are few images of new India.
Surely after the 60 years of independence India is marching ahead at the constant speed towards the desired goal of regaining the leadership of human world.

India: 60 Years: 60 Words: [14] Drinking Water
[India has competed 60 years of independence and to mark this, I am presenting this series of Articles, about the words, that are meaning a lot for the progress of the country. If you feel I missed some thing [For listing of words see the first article “India: 60 Years: 60 Words”] do inform me at premputar@gmail.com I will try to include that at the end of series]
If you are interested in astronomical literature, you are bound to have read NASA reporting there is no evidence of water existence hence there are no possibility of life on certain planet. It is fact that oxygen is life supporting element but the water, an important chemical formed from oxygen, is the one from which life is originated.
The geographical situations and human population in the India are such that people are bound to live even in very remote areas in adverse life supporting conditions. Even in the pre independence era Indians were facing problem with the availability of drinking water and bound to travel daily a lot for it. The places and houses of Rajasthan with water storage facilities are the illustration for the scarcity of this life liquid.
The natural resources of drinking water are the rivers etc. with flowing water on the surface and Wells for the underground water. If you ever had cover the distance between the Indira Gandhi International air port and Delhi city, you surely noted an almost deserted forest land of about 4 km length and in this belt one or other woman handling the hand pump to fill her bucket with the water.
India is with large geographical part with sandy, stony and mountain based surface [almost 70% of earth surface in India land is hard in nature and non suitable for digging the traditional wells to use the under ground water for the purpose of drinking] and making the sufficient and adequate availability of drinking water in these areas was a unsolved problem.
In the early years of decade of 50’s it was estimated that more than 1,50,000 Indian village are facing the problem of ample availability of drinking water but as the nation was in the process of rebuilding and facing the problems create from the migration of considerable large population hence much efforts were not taken at the government levels. It was only in the mid of 70’s [as I recall some time from 1974 to 1976] that government become active for this problem and with the help of UNISEF and World Health Organization implemented plan of Hand Pumps [India mark -2 water pumps] at the village level.
These Hand pump tube wells proved a great success and drinking water problem seems to get uprooted but huge number and long period use of these have started to reflect in the adverse format, after almost 25 years. The under ground level started to go on decline, the water, which was available at 30 feet below the surface become unable even at the depth of 70 feet, beside that fertility of surrounding soil got affected adversely and crop productions were reduced in these area.
How worst this problem of drinking water is for the Indians is, to measure this we have to look at the market of packed drinking water, the recent trend of Indian cities and elite population. In the present times I am not surprise to know that during a marriage celebration or business meet expense bill of drinking water goes higher than bill of cocktails.
Entire world is facing the problem related to shortage of drinking water but tough geographical conditions and huge population of India are making this problem more sounding. Surely beside the educating the people about the importance of drinking water, introduction of new technologies for the use of flowing water of rivers is the need of hour for the country.

India: 60 Years: 60 Words: [13] Divide and Rule
India: 60 Years: 60 Words: [13] Divide and Rule
[India has competed 60 years of independence and to mark this, I am presenting this series of Articles, about the words, that are meaning a lot for the progress of the country. If you feel I missed some thing [For listing of words see the first article “India: 60 Years: 60 Words”] do inform me at premputar@gmail.com I will try to include that at the end of series]
A primary school children is taught “United we stand, divide we fall” this is in total contrast of the primary policy and main administrative tool of “Divide and Rule” of governing during the days of British rule in the lands of India. It is unfortunate that still the political leadership is finding it hard to escape from falling pray of temptation of using this trusted and time proved policy, which is proving all important hurdles on the progress path of vigorously developing country on the roads of technological excellence and modernization.
India is the country of bunches of people with diversified religious faiths, life style and belonging to numerous casts and creeds. It is fact that over the years, from time to time at the various occasions of national calamity, either natural or originated from behavioral attitude of human beings from other parts of the globe, Indians have developed an attitude of using this diversity as the tool of adhesive instead of dividing and shown the entire human world that diversification is the strength of Indians instead of being a weakness as the majority of world population thought. This is also a fact, when it comes to using the natural resources and think of developmental plans, this narrow thought process, emotion of proving one’s supremacy over the other either on the grounds of region or cast has always worked as the obstacle for the growth speeds.
Most unfortunate thing is that political wisdom of the country, instead of coming with remedial measures finding more interest in keeping clashes alive on the basis of either regionalism, religious grounds or even on the economic status of a particular bunch of people belonging to certain casts. All the southern states were united to oppose the national language status of Hindi. Communal harmony of the country is constant under the fire just a slightest sparks has proved sufficient for the broke of communal riots. A distinguish war is visible in the employment sector for getting a secured place on the basis cast and creed. It is not uncommon to see that wisdom and talents are being defeated by cast factor in the various important sectors like the education and administration.
India had opted democratic set up of ruling and in the democracy numbers are bound to play all important role but when this number game start pushing the progress and development of the country and works against the interest and welfare of larger sector of population, it surely needs to be addressed very sincerely and a strong political will and stiff remedial measures emerge as the need of hour. After the 60 years of living under the governess of self this is most appropriate time to look in to about the problem and come forward with some rigid, stiff and time bound decisions.
The problem of division among the Indians is mainly by two reasons of region and religion or cast. Our constitution says that India will remain as non secular country. If we look back the majority of division on the religious fronts is generated from the and at the times of religious social celebrations, an ordinance can be passed for making the religious worship limited within the personal levels of citizens. Collective prayers, celebrations of religious days and coming to certain places for the purpose by masses should be banned. All the religious monuments should be decaled as the national property and a board should be constituted for taking care of these monuments. There should be only two language schooling one national language Hindi and other language regional one with medium of instruction being Hindi, however for the mother tongue permission should be granted but not at social levels, limited to personal levels. As for as, the regional developments are concerned, these should be related with the revenue sharing of the region towards the national revenue. Every state will get developmental funds in ratio of revenue, however to bring uniform development of the country, the high revenue yielding regions [say top five] will gets funds matching to 80% of their ratio and remaining 20% will be diverted towards the funds of lowest revenue yielding areas [again lowest five].
Two majority sectors Education and Jobs causing division among the Indians, both are presently running under the influence of reservation. It has passed 60 years in the same status and almost third or forth generation is in the budding phase since the implementation of this, hence this time to come forward either to withdraw it or make it time bound limited to next 5 – 10 years, however a monetary support for education of deprived classes can be introduced but that should be also a time bound program with the provisions of non extension.
All the majority of divisions among the Indians can be root caused to single reason. We all living in a country in which you need certain education level even for the job of peon but for being the ultimate boss of these appointing authority no such educational limitations are there. The need of hour is establish a relation between the education and political leadership, we can’t allow growing the division reasons for ever and only political will, can work as the remedial measure. We are in the process of increasing the women participation in the political arena but without relating it with education surely this will work as the back door reason of strengthening the male dominance in our society.

India: 60 Years: 60 Words: [12] Digital Revolution
[India has competed 60 years of independence and to mark this, I am presenting this series of Articles, about the words, that are meaning a lot for the progress of the country. If you feel I missed some thing [For listing of words see the first article “India: 60 Years: 60 Words”] do inform me at premputar@gmail.com I will try to include that at the end of series]
Chronological experts often consider human civilization as the progress of present over the past but to me the progress of human beings on the earth can only narrated with the development of technologies and their effect on the day to day life of human beings. You are free to call it boost of civilization; to me all this is nothing more than adding the comforts to life by using the technological excellence. Keeping apart this disputed and argument orienting area aside we can concentrate how the life is changed in the human world with especial attention on India during these 60 years under the influence of digital technologies.
In the India the entrance of use of technology in the life of common people can be traced with the introduction of electronic watches. This proved the base revolution for the future industrial growth of the country. It was the time when Gulshan Kumar of T –series started to make the audio cassettes cheap and Television started functioning in the country. Use of digital sound technology in the movies was on the move of gaining popularity and various new appliances backed with digital background started to appear in the Indian markets.
The digital technology use has made possible the compact sized appliances with high storage capacities especially in the appliances related with sound. Imaging and photography were the fields where the digital technology use prove most revolutionary step. This has not only changed the life style of Indians but prove a reason for changing the tourism attitude of people to a great extant. Compact digital cameras and cam coders are more frequently become visible at the tourist Indians.
All important effect of digital technology can be seen the printing industry especially for the advertisements. The hanging boards and huge hoardings which were consuming greater time by the painting them become a job of few minutes to few hours. Easiness of printing, variations in print size, easy affordability in terms of economy has made this a thing of daily life. Visiting cards which were commodity of business, executive and elite class become a need of every city living citizen.
If we look at changes like, video shooting of a family function, boost in photography sector, enhancement of market of consumer electronic goods, making the homes with more physical comforts, the root cause for this, at which we are bound to reach, is the use of digital technologies.
Considering the huge population we have use of digital technology in the printing sector is starting to prove a danger for the balance of environment. As the base product used in these technologies is the plastic which is not decomposable by the natural decomposers hence the eco system started to be affected very adversely. It has already crossed the alarming limits and especially for this sector new technology is the need of hour for the Indians.

India: 60 Years: 60 Words: [11] D T H

I was over busy with reality show “Public Ka Vittmantri”. Now all that has been over and I am back to my normal blogging. Sorry for not posting any thing new during last 15-20 days. If you wish you can read my proposals for “Public Ka Vittmantri” at http://blogs.ibibo.com/Articleworld ]
Ever since the first day of existence, food, clothing and shelter are treated as the primary basic needs of human beings, with the progress and improvement in norms and situations of social and individual life style human beings went on adding to listing of life essential needs. In the modern times the triangle of basic needs has become a polygonal with the induction of education and entertainment or recreation into listing of basic human needs.
Exhibition of artistic excellence in the fields of singing, dancing and acting were not only the tools of satisfying one’s creative desires but also proved means of entertainment for the masses over the years of human social development. The faculty started with drama theaters went on traveling through the developmental and peak phases of cinema and television etc. has reached to revolutionary stage of DTH for exhibition of these artistic excellence and coverage of day to day life in the form of News and live events especially from the sporting arena.
In India televisions started working around 80’s, it was a limited time telecast with just one channel “Door Darshan” owned by the government of India. The live coverage of funerals of assassinated Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi, Asian Games held at Delhi and 1983’s victory in ODI cricket world cup etc. are among the few, proving high points for the boosting and creating a need of expansion in the quality of television industry. India was going through the phase of liberalization of economic policies hence not only the color television sets become cheaper but also the private sector was allowed in the field of telecasting programs on the small screen which has extended its reach to the drawing rooms of common Indian families by this time. All this was adding to the change in life style of Indians besides serving the purpose of being the means of entertainment. The Hindi movies the trusted way of entertainment of Indians become available for watching at home and new channels like the “Zee” started to gain immense popularity by telecasting movies and film based programs.
The number of channels kept on growing and concept of cable telecasting was introduced to Indians. In the initial period Indians were watching 30 odd television channels with a local movie channel at monthly subscription of less than Rs. 100/-. A new horizon of entertainment and earning was opened in the format of cable industry as in no time cable become essential part of Indian homes especially in the cities. Global commercializing forces kept of growing and a few channels turned into pay channels, which forced a hike in the monthly subscription of cable. If the television proved a new advertising media for the MNC, cable was doing the same for the local business and Indian telecasting sky started to bombarding of new channels, telecast from limited time went on to become of 24 hours. The growth was so vigorous that at present there are more than 15 channels telecasting news in Hindi. The revolution also provided Indians the chance of watching the news and other events in own regional language at home at affordable price.
Cable network was limited to cities and small cities only and a huge area of village population was uncovered, having within the reach of terrestrial transmit ion of Doordarshan only. The diversified watching interest of city population, Monopoly in cable network, increased monthly subscriptions, and presence of too many channels are the reasons, which forced introduction of new technology in the field. All this is resulting in the format of D T H [Direct to home trasmition], a choice aggregated viewing. This is economically affordable even for the huge village population because here the monthly subscription is based on the number of viewed channels as par the choice and preference of the viewers. If one can avoid the temptation of pay channels and opt for viewing only free to air channels, only the initial investment around Rs. 1500/- will prove sufficient with life time expanses of watching over 30 television channels.
D T H is proving new life icon for Indians as for the village population this is opening new doors of entertainment, news world, sporting and other events covered live and for the city population is working as the mark of status symbol.

India: 60 Years: 60 Words: [10] Cricket and other sports

Sporting arena is the only faculty where even after becoming the economic and commercial super power Indians will be legging behind the rest of the world. Individual Gold Medals is the unrealized dream of Indians since so many years. It was a time when India was the undisputed king of hockey and created many team and individual records, some of which are still a challenging achievement for others. As more and more bureaucrats and politicians started to change the hands in the administration of this national game so the playing standards started to decline. “Failure is born orphan” saying seems to be practices and today we are in the huge country have only a few astro trough a basic facility of modern hockey. Playing rules at international levels also proved for making the decline more and deeper as the concept of power hockey was not matching with the skills and talents of the Indians. Thanks God even all the unfavorable conditions not resulted in youth getting diversified from the game. A considerable good and fairly large chunk is of talented Indian youth still keeping the betel on and hopefully in near future India will regain the position of world champions in the hockey. Who can say it was not possible, if in the 80’s when Astro concept was introduced, might India opted for investing 100 carores in the hockey for preparing 100 such grounds, India might have the same status in hockey also which the Indians are having in the present cricketing world.
Unexpectedly India, under the inspiring and illustrating captaincy of Kapil Dev Nikhanj went on to win the 1983 ODI championship of the cricket beating the mighty West Indians. It is fact that this victory brought the glory for the nation and is the strongest reason of the present cricketing passion we Indians have but surely is also among the probable reasons of decline in the national game of hockey. Glamorous atmosphere and huge economic gains succeeded attracting the Indian youth for cricket, most than any other sporting faculty. The natural result of all this is though India emerges as the strongest cricketing nation but went on to become poor competitor in most of other sports. The fact can be reflected from the India’s world raking [above 100] in the less expensive game of football.
Fortunately India has huge population and diversified cultural atmosphere and habits hence the hope lamp is kept on the burning and few talents like Amritraj brothers, Pace, Bhupati, Sania Mirza [Tennis], P.T. Usha, Anju Bobby george, Milkha Singh [Athletics], Karna Maleshwari [Power weight lifting], Captain Rathord, Abhinav Bindra, Jaspal Rana [shooting], Get Sethi, Pankaj Advani [Billiards and Snooker], Vishawnathan Anand [Chess] and Bachendari Paul [Mountaineering], Prakash Padukone, Aparna Popat, Phullela Gopichand [Badminton], Dingko Sing [Boxing], Arjun Atwal [Golf], Bula Chowdhury [Swimming], Chetan Babur [Table Tennis], chuni Goswami, Baichung Bhutia [Football], Dola Banjree, Limba Ram [Archery], Kartiyekan [Motor Racing] etc. [the list includes many many more names] has not only shown the diversified sporting talent present in the country but also proved to be the oil for this hope lamp of Indians. The good thing of these 60 years that Indians started to realize that supremacy in the sporting faculties is most important aspect of world leaders in the modern times and the progress in the direction is the indicative of India emerging as the strong sporting nation in near future.
Infra structural and other sporting facilities are developing in the country at vigorous rate and hopefully in near short future India might go for becoming the host for the Olympic games, which surely will prove the most needed inspiration and will lead the country to turn into strongest sporting nation and lead the rest of world. Changed attitude of Indians is also reflecting from the recently released Hindi movies like the Iqbal and Chak De India based on the sports.

India: 60 Years: 60 Words: [9] Corporate Agriculture
[India has competed 60 years of independence and to mark this, I am presenting this series of Articles, about the words, that are meaning a lot for the progress of the country. If you feel I missed some thing [For listing of words see the first article “India: 60 Years: 60 Words”] do inform me at premputar@gmail.com I will try to include that at the end of series]
Over the years India is the country of formers and Indian economy is the world’s best illustration for the agricultural economy. Today even after the 60 years of independence, achieving high rated technical excellence, high industrial growth and entering into world market of launching the satellite, majority of Indian population is the village population and fallows the agricultural economy.
Concepts like the “Green Revolution”, “Cash Crops”, “Second Crop” and “Simultaneous Works like the Poultry” etc. has not only boosted the agricultural production to go beyond the limits of self sufficiency but also worked for the addition to the monetary wealth of the formers. Rich flora and fauna diversified climatic conditions of the country when bundled with the new improvised way of forming and technical excellence resulted in producing a magical effect of taking the country into list of world exporters for many agricultural yielding like the Onion, flowers, sugar, cotton, herbal products, tea and spices etc.
Corporate agriculture is the most recent addition to the vocabulary and dictionary of the Indian formers, though this new concept is being opposed by the majority of formers because the stiff competition and war of survival, which might be going to become the most threatening effect of this concept for the individual formers. Surely the large investment capacities and reach to modernization with better and effective storage facilities will put the corporate sector ahead of the common individual formers. Indian formers welcomed the co-operative moment because in this there was a space for keeping the individual identity intact but the most fearful perception about the corporate agriculture is the loosing this identity.
Why the corporate sector is aiming at this village economy? Is the question, without addressing to which it is going to be tough and irrelevant to deal with and understand the new concept in its totality. World’s present super power America is on the roads of weakening and new economic centre is bound to emerge only two economies of the world China and India are speeding in this direction, in the industry and commerce competition is growing to become stiff day by day and forcing corporate sector to search new horizons for existences, diversified climatic conditions and liberal government policies towards the agricultural based activities is making the field ideal for entrance of the capitalist groups into scene in the India. Above all the agricultural sector of India is primarily constituted from the huge number of small and non associate farmers and this is the most attracting thing for the corporate sector.
Corporate agricultural will bring the old days of farmer slavery or Jamidar systems and all the land reforms of 60 years will turn meaningless is the thought wave of the group opposing the entrance of the corporate sector in the agricultural arena. The probable difference might be caused by the present village education levels of the country and might not the Indian farmers fall pray to any trap of the capitalist groups, besides that experience of working with cooperative societies is also going to help the farmers for getting a better deal and more beneficial contract from the corporate sector. All what I see will happen that with increased inflow of investment more technological excellence will involved, more advanced techniques will be part of day to day farming, better storage facilities will going to increase the earnings and might the agricultural exports go on to match other sectors on the front of earning foreign currencies for the country. Though it will be going to add responsibilities of the government as safeguarding the welfare and rights of non united and isolated farmers will go on to higher priority list and government will be pressurized to come with laws favoring the farmers in case of dispute so the corporate sector should not get upper hand only on the bases of huge invest mental capacities.
